![]() The presenter gets a *different screen for "Elevating the process". In a youtube video showcasing the Android Device Manager. My organization is very strict about the security. It says the 30 days evaluation period is over etc.) (edit: When opening Visual Studio as Local Admin, it is stuck on the license screen. The Local Admin user is not in the AD system. So effectively I get an error stating that I cannot connect from "local network". ![]() But, unfortunately my Visual Studio Enterprise License is linked to the "AD" account. So that the user of the process would be same as the process for the Android Device Manager. I would try to validate this theory by starting Visual Studio as Local Admin. Every time I open the Android Device Manager, I am asked for the local admin password. Visual Studio process is used as my "AD" user. It seems that the Android Device Manager ends up being used as my Local Admin user (visible in the Task Manager). So the main problem is that devices added in the Device Manager do not appear in Visual Studio to be used for debugging. I tried to resolve this with the IT support of my organization. It seems that the original poster resolved his problem. I am sorry if I am hijacking this thread. I was thinking maybe I need to run Visual Studio elevated but I do not think this is a solution I want to make.Įdit: also I want to note that I edited bios and enabled hyper-v like instructed in the microsoft documentation. Maybe related, each time the Device Manager starts I am asked for local administrator authentication. cannot-debug-xamarin-app-in-visual-studio-android-emulator (cannot post links) I tried to search and maybe found several posts with similar issues: If I quit and try starting debugging again, it brings me back to the Device Manager. ![]() The manager is awesome, but if I create a new device and start it, the app I was supposed to be debugging is not installed on the simulated device. Instead if I start debugging it always opens the Android Device Manager. When debugging in Visual Studio 2019 it does not show any specific simulator device. I recently installed the latest Xamarin version and created a new Xamarin application.
